Veritas Panel Very Warm

Featured Replies

Neighbour's 17 year old Veritas panel feels overly warm, I'd expect some heat from the tranny but this seems to be along the lower width of the panel. Never touched a Veritas before so unsure if this is the norm. System working fine otherwise

When was the battery last changed?

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.

id agree with magpyes suspicions ie battery is shot

As above, we went to one once and the transformer had melted through the lid of the panel....

Replaced a few access systems recently-and batteries in them were all bulging and flucked (bats 10 yrs plus-one 1993),not defending any manufacturer in particular-but if they're not serviced regularly, by whoever, then it's going to have an adverse affect on the trannies etc and cause other probs.

Waits with baited breath for 'Le Happy' to comment on 'trannies', lol

but modern wireless panels use nicad - lith ion etc. So will be less of a problem long term.

By the way how are peeps testing these little batt packs?
