June 17, 201114 yr Author comment_274749 That is excellent. I am actually trying to find an inexpensive transformer. Any ideas? June 18, 201114 yr comment_274779 I am actually trying to find an inexpensive transformer. Any ideas? I don't think there's a transformer inside a bell. There would either be a small DC motor or a solenoid. What do you want the "transformer" for. June 18, 201114 yr comment_274780 I'm guessing to drop from 230v ? Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. June 19, 201114 yr Author comment_274786 I was considering getting this bell just for a bit of fun, not to install. I gather the "transformer" would usually be built into the control panel in an installation. I gather the "transformer" would usually be built into the control panel in an installation. The fire alarm panel has a power supply to power the panel, devices and upon a fire condition the bell/sounders. You would require a 24Vdc power supply capable of supplying over 30mA. Unfortunatly 24Vdc is a voltage only used on a limited amount of equipment. Or get a 12Vdc bell and power supply? September 3, 201213 yr comment_289380 Why? What difference is a 24vdc PSU to the panel bell outputs, which run off a 24vdc supply?
