Seems like I've gone through a 1000 BT type jelly connectors in a flash. Anyone know where's the best place to buy a load of these and get a good deal?

There are no good deals. The best price is 8p each + VAT they are good but dear.

I used to corner a BT engineer and demand a bag in exchange for some cable! (I wasn't supplying the cable!!) :)
