I HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND A SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM - EASIER THAN YOU WOULD IMAGINE, AND AM VERY SUPRISED NO ONE HERE HAS MENTIONED.

Care to give us a clue, after all we tried to help but you ruled out most things up front...............

Iv only just seen this thread and the guy is corret its a piece of wee wee..... iv been involved with a project that we needed the same sort of idea and its still used today. GSM/G3 is the way forward along with tcp/ip so you guys need to get your bbc micros back out and dust them off for your upto date tuition. :)
