The ACT unit is a rebranded Progressive electronics tone and tracer kit, Usualy a few on ebay, for Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer. Probably not bad for the money, but being a brand name whore I'd get a proper Progressive one. I think CPC have them in their leaflet on offer this month for 35 quid or thereabouts. September 17, 200619 yr comment_120574 maplins are doing a cable tracer on special at the mo look here Tracer Could do with a cable tracer myself, are these Maplins one any good? hi RICHL, it's made by Wavetech, i used one of these for years, it's not 'tone selective' so wont rejecte mains like the Fluke Digital but ideal to keep at hand in you tool box, so yes its good. you will have trouble tracing in a riser with nearby mains cables or florescents, but for If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
