Hi Chris,

There's a few ways to get started.

Firstly there's the Security Industry Training Organisation website HERE.

Otherwise get the yellow pages out and ring around a few alarm co's

Hope this helps,

Regards

Hi Chris,

How old are you?

You might want to look into the options of doing a course at college, I believe there are intruder alarm courses available but only in certain parts of the country. But the least you should do is a basic electronics course for a year, that will give you a higher chance of finding a job in the security industry.

Have you had a look at Initial, they have a branch in Liverpool.

Top tip: if you ever catch fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because i bet thats what REALLY throws you into a panic and dont forget the one thing you cant recycle is wasted time.

try mcgoff & vickers they are a nsi gold firm based in liverpool, they have quite a few intruder alarm apprentices, you can call them on 0151 922 6441 and ask to speak to john williams or david poole

Whatever happens, dont let any careers advisors or any rejectons you might get put you off, theres always a way, and once you get a start you can build on it.

Your obviously interseted and enthusiastic, rare qualities in my experience.

Good luck.

Getting back to your original post,as Sub says don't get put off if you get a few doors shut in your face.Check out your local college for courses (as per Rich).

When you do get in somewhere don't be afraid to ask questions (no matter how daft they seem) and don't be afraid to diversify - you'll find a niche and then grow within it.

Good luck.
