    only one I know of is the Vanderbilt / Siemens spc unit. uses up cameras for the video, does email alerts and x10 via modules.

    you are sending power down the coax as well as the video? What converters are you using?

    I know what you mean but most people would change from default on initial setup for security

    the point at the start was check for a battery powered smoke detector not on the alarm. Where is the beep coming from?

    go with a system that does a wired siren then, however assuming your not setting it off every day lithium cells do last a couple of years
