  1. If this is your questions AFTER extensive googling not being cheeky like but you may find it better value getting a professional in as you are pretty much guaranteed to make mistakes if you haven't done it before, and putting those mistakes right could easily cost you more than the extra cost of getting it done right in the first place with aftersales support too.

  2. The setup you are describing soubds like a communicall/vision combined warden call/door entry system. Do they still need the warden call facility? To keep the pendants you would need to fit a warden call system which is quite a limited range, tynetech, chubb, tunstall or entrotec had a go but i think they abandoned the project. You may need to leave the tunstall equipment in situ and recable and fit new standalone equipment alongside if you cant source a combined system. Tbh its a steep learning curve and a life critical safety system so if you are not familiar and not looking to move into that market sector i'd leave it or give them a **** off price and subby it if you win.

  3. Every site is bespoke and because of the type of sites usually protected by that system its unlikely anyone involved will share the service info about it, usually companies that takeover end up having to replace the first time they have a software problem.

  4. Don't use the word cctv in the service name you create, that causes problems with the hh3. Are you remembering you need to apply twice, once to add the port, then once to confirm the service? Also a full reboot vdsl and all helps sometimes. i've had 2 that just wouldn't play the game, then suddenly started to work with no real reason.

  5. Long time since toddlers were in my house :)

The presumption was that whoever wired my house did it properly an safely. Killing the power would have meant shutting down my servers and that's a pain. I simply saw no danger in loosening a socket for the decorator. How wrong.

If one of your engineers did the same and got a belt and took some time off would you be saying the same or would you be covering your ample **** by disciplining them for not following loto?

You are always on here saying this that and the other are not following best practice what suddenly bade you think burnleys finest donkey sparks suddenly started excelling when they did your house?

  6. Accessing the dvr itself might take a couple of seconds more as activex is disabled by default after w8.1 i think it was but other than that I have never come across a router that had any issues in being configured from any platform, i quite often use my fruitpadmini if there is wifi.

  7. The chap who did mine took him an hour, he was fuming. Windows 8, trying to get round it... He told me it usually only takes 5-10 mins, then on the other hand you can get nightmare set ups.  Paying him £25 to sort all this out is peanuts. Well I personally think so.   On the other hand, I should know how to do it....

Windows 8 has absolutely zero bearing in setting up port forwarding on a router, sounds like you were fed a ******** excuse from someone who doesn't have a clue. Another clue they are not all that is the fact they would travel to a site for £25 all in.
