  1. Welcome and Hi
  2. Welcome and hi
  3. Some of us install quite a bit of automation and take safety very seriously, and some of us install a couple of gates and get to go to Italy for the weekend!
  4. There's a clue in the name
  5. Super glue 3 for punctures
  6. The mains is constantly charging the battery and the battery is what is powering your system, if the mains fails the battery continues to power your system. Depending on the current being drawn by your system and the size of the battery, it should last anything between 6 and 12 hours. Professional installers will use a multimeter to find out what current is being drawn, and calculate what size battery is required to provide a minimum of 12 hours standby.
  7. Yes
  8. Why else would you have a battery in the bell?
  9. I am saying the bell box is designed to sound if someone cuts the cable. So if you remove either the 12v or Negative going to the bell the bell should ring
  10. I saved £400 on a new set of tyres for my car by simply painting a tread on the old bald ones. they seem a bit slippy when it rains though?
  11. Self actuating bell or Sounder if its SAS. The point is if it rings when you remove the hold off it is working as it should, Its designed so that should a burglar crow bar the bell off the wall and cut the wire it doesnt stop the sounder from operating.
  12. At the panel take out the 12v or Negative feeding the bell
  13. What happens when you diss the hold off
  14. Sort of, experience and abilities go a long way, SSAIB and NSI silver are similar NSI Gold is a different animal all together. Your abilities will make a difference to what you can go for. What is your experience though? Installer? management? security guard?
  15. What experience do you have?
  16. This panel is most likely DIY so you will struggle to find a good company that would take it on. But if the cabling and detectors are good then try www.nsi.org.uk or ssiab.co.uk you can search by postcode and these companies are professional, the bonus of them being approved is if they do let you down then you can complain to their inspectorate
  17. Hi and welcome, I am not familiar with the panel, but you cannot silence keypads on most systems. My advice would be to disconnect the basement keypad at the panel. You can disable the led on most pirs there is normally a link in the detector. When was the system last serviced? Have you changed the battery in the last 7 years?
  18. Good luck with that
  19. Hi Lee Welcome to the forum, what sort of experience do you have as an installer?
  20. LOL this place is full of sarcasm and satire, you do know that this is a security industry forum right? If you can put up with the humour, and you're prepared to put in as much as you get back you could find this site useful.
  21. Hi Colin Welcome to the forum, this is probably not the best topic area to advertise for prospective sub contractors. We have a section for this sort of thing in the trade area of this site, you can apply for trade once you have made 5 posts. Other than that you could post in the guest forum. However, many of the subcontractors that visit this site have opted not to see the public areas.
  22. Yo can reinstall the software they used to send out discs
  23. Y3k are the suppliers, I have no idea of what the default password would be
  24. I thought maybe thats what he meant, customers often confuse tamper tones with alrm going off Not only that it will go off again shortly after resetting it
  25. Its probably telling you that it has a battery missing
