  1. Then they will have to wait till their next pay rise, to get the substance they require. That said none of my fat employees are getting a pay rise for some time
  2. No its tax avoidance instead of paying a pay rise give them a lunch of £5 per day tax free. Its £25 per week is £100 per month £1,200 per year tax free good idea (If your giving a pay rise that is )
  3. Hi Mounis Welcome to the forum, We do understand that to anyone on the outside looking in the security forums do seem like places where diyers come to get flamed rather than gain information. The problem is, people come here with high expectations and no budget. This is because the internet is flooded with cheap CCTV which most professionals would not trust to prop a door let alone secure their property. When CCTV went digital 10 or so years ago the box shifting companies selling computers thought they add another string to their bow by selling DVR's and cameras. As a result there are many variations of cameras and digital recorders out there, some are very good but unfortunately most are very poor. It is a case of you do get exactly what you pay for with CCTV no more no less, the price is a very good indicator to the quality in most cases. So when posters are told what they dont want to here they accuse us of flaming when really we are telling them as it is. First off you need to decide the purpose of the CCTV system, once you know the purpose then you specify the system to the purpose. Any deviation from the purpose makes the system pointless. For example if the problem is that your car or shed is being broken into (or you are just worried that it might be) you will need cameras that will identify the person doing it. Otherwise whats the point? If your shed is broken into and the CCTV system does not identify who did it then the CCTV is only telling you what you already know. If you are only using the CCTV as a deterrent then dummy cameras is the cheapest solution. I could give hundreds examples of purpose, it would be much easier if you just tell us your thoughts on the purpose of your CCTV. We will then give you ideas on what we think you should use. If its outside your budget then my advise would be save up or dont bother. The cheap stuff is exactly that
  4. If you can stretch to two way the battery life will be better as will the protection
  5. Anything in the states is unlikely to be compliant with the BS EN standards £850 buys a Videofied panel and a couple of detectors, Visonic is probably the better route for your budget, forget the cameras.
  6. Also If you think Visonic stuff is expensive your gonna **** yourself when you see the the prices of the proper stuff
  7. The cameras only work with the Real not the standard Powermaster as far as I know?
  8. I am sure it seems like you are getting the third degree here, however, as has been already said you are asking very basic questions. It seems like your a little naive running an alarm company with very little knowledge or experience, and poorly run companies with engineers that have little or none experience give the industry a bad name. I am sure that you are doing your best, and the reason you are here is that you are trying to learn, but you seem to be out of you depth which again is worrying. If you asked any one of the alarm company owners here how they started their business and learned their trade none of it would be thanks to the forums, most id guess over 99.9% would have started off working for another alarm company.
  9. It wont be possible to PM Craig as you have not done enough posts
  10. Plus your time, I would rather pay someone to do stuff than diy it myself, I value my free time. I'm not knocking what your doing though, if you are happy doing it yourself then thats fine.
  11. Motion light sensor normally output mains to switch on a light
  12. Like-for like-possibly, I would say nearer 2 hrs, but changing it for a new late panel 3 or 4 hours, inc changing all the eols etc. And if it goes wrong they come back and replace it free.
  13. I wouldnt rely on a real bird to direct me to the nearest expensive handbag store, as I would be diverted via the expensive shoe shop and the expensive dress shop
  14. If its new then I assume they give some sort of warranty, just check the feedback first
  15. Hi Dave I would be guessing the current draw but would say 2 or 3 days on a fully charged battery, but if the battery is charging at 10v then not very long if at all. I cant answer Q 2 as I havent really played with Scantronic panels since the 9500 panel. But I think if you are changing the panel like-for-like you need to get one thats nearly new, or unused. Otherwise you will end up with one with the same problems or worse more problems. I would always recommend you replace it with a new panel rather than second hand, I get the green thing and I understand the money issue but sometimes its a false economy for a few quid extra
  16. The pirs should see up to 15 meters at 90 degrees but normally you would expect the intruder to have entered half way through the window at least
  17. The one that came with my jag is very good, I speak the postcode whilst driving along, she tells me if there's a traffic jam ahead and gives me alternative routes. I tell her I'm hungry and she tells me where the nearest eateries are. And to go home I just say navigation go home brilliant
  18. Hi And welcome to the forum I dont understand why you are not fitting an actual alarm system rather than a PCB? Does the property have more than two rooms? is it ever going to get bigger? None of us could say whether the detectors are any good or not as they are different from the ones we use in the UK though Risco is sold over here it is what we would call the cheaper end of the market
  19. Thats what I said! The external sounder is the bell output, nobody uses bells anymore so why call it a bell output?
  20. We get this quite a bit, but how are we making money out of advising you to buy a new panel we dont sell them we install them. I appreciate that you are trying to be green by not throwing away something that works, but meanwhile your neighbors are thinking that pooxy alarm is always going off. We are giving you advice from experience, we see this stuff everyday we know the expense of trying different tests only to end up replacing the panel in the end anyway
  21. Connect the sound bomb to the external sounder output wire in parallel with the existing wiring make sure that you do not exceed the current rating for the bell output though
  22. If the battery is only producing 4v then it will be pulling current from the panel and has been pulling current from some time, the 14v coming from the charging circuit is telling you nothing as its not on any load. Your panel is powered from the battery and the battery is kept charged from the charging circuit, this way the detection and panel gets a steady 12vdc. The mains into your panel is appx 240vac sometimes it can be 220vac sometimes it can be as high as 600vac it is never 240vac exactly without a battery the 12v will be fluctuating up and down with the mains supplied. This will effect the CPU and detection giving allsorts of problems but seeing the battery is as old as it was I would agree with everyone that the panel is fried
  23. You could speak to the bloke that writes mine, we print a jsheet straight from AM upload and send it to the engineer, he fills it in and clicks a button it emails a copy to the customer and returns it to us we save it to AM and send customer an invoice.
