The cheapest i can buy as they all do the same job. if i get a mk it would cost twice as much as a B&Q cheap one and it still holds a 3amp fuse.

You need to qualify a statement like this. No they will not all do the same job. If you are protecting anything like an appliance using close to the rated load i would always use MK Crabtree or equal and the same would apply to a plug top. As i think we are referring to a low consumption alarm panel i would agree with your statement especially as "The cheapest i can buy" are normally sourced at the local alarm store and come with a 3 amp fuse fitted.

Customers!

I was referring to connecting to an alarm panel so the load is never realy more than 1amp. I have been fitting fuse spurs from the trade counters for 17 years connected to alarm panels and psu's. Never had a problem with one yet. Well apart from customers smashing them off the wall.

Your quite correct the cheapest will do the job, but if i was to recommend a spur (or any other electrical device like a spur) i also would go with MK everytime. Quality kit!

I'm pretty sure the B&Q value range are made by MK anyway

As long as its compliant and you dont care what badge it wears use what you like and hence pay what you want! some skoda's are as good as any VW's but I wouldn't drive a skoda, however I dont care if my non switched fuse spur has an MK badge or joe bloggs as long as it complies with regs and its cheap!!!!!! :P
