Get a special tile drill bit

thank rich!

do you usually fix the box directly to the tiles?

I confess my reply was a bit obvious, but I dont do alarms myself, but im sure someone will answer you soon enough with a better answer.

You can use grip-fill to mount something on the tiles to fix to. Cut it to the exact size of the bellbox and weatherproof it. Don't forget to check if the gripfill is weatherresistant too. I've drilled some before and it isn't always successful as some tiles break easily.

Perspex sheet works well.

thanks for your reply, that's very helpful :)

I fitted one bell box to hanging tiles 10 years ago never again. They break too easly.

or better still just forget completely about having an alarm system and employ a security guard with a great big dog

Ditto to what Pete said but cool the drill bit regularly, I usually take the bell lid up the ladder with me and put a cup full of water in it.

And to re emphasise......DO NOT USE HAMMER.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
