The soffits had been redone on one system so I could not get the lid off...

 

I have now progessed to butchering with an angle grinder

Decent size holesaw does a good job too, done that a few times when you can't get the roofer out the bottom of a C Type. Saves pulling all the shattered plastic out the gutters and borders later...
