Veritas R8 battery / AC / tamper problem

Recommended Posts

Hi I changed the battery on my veritas r8 alarm as it was stuck with tamper light on following a power cut. I had hoped the new battery would get me back to normal. However, when I try to set my alarm it doesn't work. I have tried #### code to reset it but it is now stuck with number 1 to 8 solid red and the green unset button also lit. I cannot change the code either using the old code - 60 - new code - prog-reset but goes back to the 8 lights on again. Can anyone help me get it working again?

If u press the reset button the 8 lights go away but the unset and solid red tamper light is now on

When I power down and up again last time it went off for ages and only #### reset would get it to stop. If it does this again will I enter #### reset or my own code? To silence the alarm

My dad replaced the cover and did the battery and seemed confident it was on OK. How do you do an engineer reset? I'm totally new to this and can find very little info about it online. Thanks so much for your help.

Try setting alarm and pressing reset again

Cover has a spring behind it which might not be making contact

If engineer reset , then there is a special code and you will have to call out a local engineer to do it for you perhaps

If it's a locked version not sure if any were but then may mean replacing whole panel
