xpertalarms
Hi all, Taking over an SPC at the moment and it has one wireless zone on it, the zone status shows as 'disconnected' about a minute after learning it on, the customer said that they had the same issue before. Battery is ok and signal is fine, any ideas? Ta
Amps
Poor signal strength?
xpertalarms
Signal strength is fine as the contact is next to the wireless module which is built into the keypad
datadiffusion
Sounds as if it's going into sleep mode - it's 2 way. Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
xpertalarms
Yeah, thought that might be the case. I'll have a play and see if I can wake it up when I'm there tomorrow, since it's only the one zone that's wireless it's very tempting to run a cable to it instead and put a wired contact there! datadiffusion
These panels can do slightly odd things. Such as showing the first zone in a confirmed alarm as still in 'alarm' when what it really means is engineer reset required - we had a confirmed (accidental - cleaner) intrusion but it made it appear as if a detector was faulty. I don't have any SPC system with wireless devices (only the capability i.e. built into the panel), but would assume the devices were sleeping. I am guessing test or setting would wake them up - I assume you're monitoring everything via web portal? In fact I have an SPC wireless contact and PIR both BNIB here if you want them at a knock down price! (Just can't see me ever using them...). xpertalarms
We have taken over a few signet/spc systems now. This is the first time I've used one with wireless zones, but they are great panels. It takes a while to get used to them but we like them. And yes, monitoring everything via web portal

jnealon
The only time I see the SPC/Signet wireless devices go discon is either when the tamper is open or the battery is removed. Apart from that I'd say faulty sensor 1 Quote www.realsecurity.ie
