Colin53
I recently found that the keypad on my Optima XM alarm was not working. I have changed the battery and managed to get it working. After doing this I decided to do a walk test to confirm that everything was working. Everything is working except zone 4 which has a PIR on the landing and a PIR in the kitchen. The PIR's both flash when I walk past but do not trigger the alarm. All connections appear to be OK The system was installed by builder 20 years ago and has worked well throughout (2 new batteries) Is it likely to be a faulty PIR? How do I find out which one? Thanks Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/41021-pirs-in-zone-4-not-working/ Share on other sites
al-yeti
You could link the alarm sensor contacts manually to check there's no cable fault I assume it sets otherwise Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/41021-pirs-in-zone-4-not-working/#findComment-459826 Share on other sites

Colin53
Thanks, will these be the red/yellow wires at the sensor? I assume that I leave the other 4 wires connected to the sensor? Colin53
James, I assume that it has always worked since they flashed has I walked past them and the system armed etc. I've not done a walk through test until today. Colin53
All the zones are being used. The landing sensor is probably least important. I'm not confident about messing with the spaghetti in the box, could I wire through at the sensor?
