i also like the sound of the hush buttons suggested by sixwheeledbeast... but not sure the landlord would like them to turn their alarms off..

I found these hush buttons to be a clever way of doing flats.

If your flat is activated only your flat sounds for a period of time, you can Hush your own alarm about 3 times before a full evac is triggered. If you clear the smoke from the room within the hush button period all will reset avoiding an evac.

Communal areas would as default trigger a full evac on the systems I fitted but if necessary these could be RoR detectors or controlled with C&E, all down to the RA etc.

All the retirement places round here are stay-put anyway, christ the state of some of the old codgers they'd only be halfway down their own corridor before the water fairies declared all-clear...

When most of the places were built in the 70s to 90s, they NEVER imagined the average age of the residents would be near 90... Because back then they weren't, if you weren't dead at 70 something

you'd almost certainly spend your last few years in a nursing home, that's how it was for most anyway.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
