G2-12 Firmware

Featured Replies

Hi, I had this alarm fitted and now need to go wireless. The c079 module states it needs a new firmware update.

My panel says v1.0. Would be expensive to update it?

Many thanks.

The update has to be done with a dongle and a laptop.

When was the system installed? Is it under a maintence contract?

Should just be a cost of a call out to update the firmware. (Price Will depend on area and company)

It was 2 years ago. It's not under any contract. Fitted by a guy who did alarms.

Sounds simple just need to find someone.

I need to move the cable for the keypad. I'm in engineer mode is it OK to just unplug cable? Many thanks

If it was fitted 2 years ago I'd be suprised if it needs a firmware upgrade to take the RF Portal.

Oh right! How do you check I could have sworn when I checked through the menu it said v1.0.

It'll be printed on the chip inside.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

If menu option 23 is saying V1.0X, then it's a V1.0 and needs updating.  All G2 PCB's can be brought up to the latest version.

1.0, two years old? That's been in someone's shed for a good while?

Yeah we'd do it for the price of call out

That's what I was thinking. Must have been sat around for a while.
