Could someone help me here, I fitted a G2 panel 2-3 years back it has 12 zones expandable to 20 i belive.

 

I would like to add an outbuilding to the system only acouple sensors its like max 20 m away from the house, is the C079-2 RF Portal the correct one. Can it be remote wired to the main panel ie I would like to place it at the end of the house nearest the out building to keep distance short.

 

Also when adding a rf portal does this add aditional zones to the system or would I have to use one of the existing 12 zones ?

Yes, C079-2 is the best portal for the G2.   The portal connects to the RS485 bus as per the keypad, so you can mount remotely from the panel.  You can still have 12 wired zones and 8 wireless.

The portal just uses up one of the zones so you can have up to 20 zones in any mixture

Just be sure to address it , 4 or 5 on the g2 , or it won't see it

Can anyone confirm it will work fine on version 1.5 panel firmware.

Yes. 1.5X is fairly recent.
