New Opentap Number - No Registration

Ok so main pitfalls imo with opentap were:

50p call charge and the registration process.

The new number 07045607101 needs no registration. Just enter the receiving phone numbers with a "44" instead of "0"

50p call charge still stands max 2 texts per drop call.

No e-mail obviously due to the lack of registration.

This is a big improvement with the service.

I really am quite excited about the possibilities with this now registration is opened up. As in replacing the use of the Voda centre.

Hopefully the industry see it like I do in that they should not be using the Voda one unless they have to as it could be turned off pretty much anytime. Paying more per call is not really an excuse, if people want sms via pstn they can rely on.

Yea . Never really thought about it until I saw it on here.

I personally wouldn't use it for opens and closes but alarms and faults are useful.

For those who don't want or won't pay for proper Monitering.

TBH I was surprised I could send SIA via SMS.

simpler james, Texe may have this as default soon.

Yes agreed monitoring is better but if people are going to use tap they should at least use a service that is intended for that use. You know as I do the  problem with vodas server. We should not be using it really.

+ if sms via pstn is 50p per call it means monitoring/gsm diallers become more viable, compared to the 18p option :)

The industry should get tough on it, do it properly at 50p or do it a different way. Using voda one is like a ticking time bomb for complaints
