Visonic Powerax Complete

Featured Replies

Hi People.

I bought a Visonic powermax complete about two years ago but never installed it. Anyway my current 20 year old alarm (optima xm) is playing up so decided to try out the Visonic. I have powered it up used a 3amp fused spur, everything looks straight forwardish as regards to programming.

One question, everywhere i have read it states that a wireless bell box has to be used or a expander module needs to be fitted to use a wired bell box.

Can someone please tell me what the picture is showing, am i wrong to think this is for the bell box?

The blue connection point, you can see "SRN"? what is this for?

Would appreciate the help.

I'm assuming this would be for a simple, untampered speaker (although you could use the adjacent zone I suppose)

or a simple internal siren; a traditional outside bellbox will be a SAB and I'm making a rough guess these terminals

will not provide for that. So looks like you will need the module. All just a guess though, I'm sure an expert will be along

in a mo.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

This is to drive a internal sounder only.

Powermax Complete doesn't support a "proper" wired bellbox without the output module.

Thanks for confiirming that. I appreciate it.

I have a wireless mcs-700. This also came with an ac adaptor. I take it this is to be used if its for inside the house. When mounting outside, what sort of power source do i use as the adaptor does say indoor use only?

Any guidance would be appreciated. If all else fails i still have the old siren box and would just buy an expander module.

id get the module or use the internal psu of the external sounder internally.
