that's bizarre.

the panel is indicating z2 caused the alarm but we have verified that zone 2 is set to inhibited entry

can you answer yes to the following questions:

if you arm the system and go outside the protected area the system sets correctly.

if you then open the door just enough to trip the door contact the exit timer begins as normal and continues for the duration of the entry time?

how can the sensor pick you up if you are stood outside the protected area, i.e. on the other side of the door to the sensor?

was in relation to question 2, i need to establish that the timing system functions correctly, so, arm system, goo out thru door, let system set.

when system has set open door a few inches, just enough to trip door contact, if entry timer starts correctly and then lasts for the duration of the programmed time before alarm, thien this verifies that both the door contact has the correct zone programming and that nothing else is affecting the entry time.

great stuff..

so, we know the following,

1, the exit entry works correctly

2, we have verified that the zone is programmed as inhibited entry.

3, we have verified zone 2 in the lounge as being the zone causing the alarm.

hmm, 2 mins while i have a quick scan of the manuals..
