i have a customer with a galaxy 60 control unit, 1 rio 1 rkp and a standalone digi.

have been called to site a few times reporting that they set the system at night time and the morning after it didnt make the entry nosie, appeared unset and the keypad display is blank, it still respons to keypresses and remembers all codes/zone descriptions etc.

checked for high ohms on aux voltage to detectors, non found

i have 1k across the power pair feeding the bell, but that could just be reading through the PCB.

everything else seems fine 13.64 on aux out, around 4v on data a+b

is it a faulty panel?

ive already changed the battery.

any help would be great.

what does the log show?

shows 50 alarms, as if the powers been lost to all devices, the aux fuses are all okay.

I assume in the time frame of somebody walking around a house while the alarm is set ?

not sure id have to check again, last time i looked they all logged within a few seconds.

Keypad blank?

Does this not mean the panel is set?

Does the bell trip if you set the system and trip it?

Does entry tone start when opening door?

Program correct/new or old job.

Check log for set time and then time of zones tripping.

yes the keypad is blank and it does mean its set.

system sets and unsets fine when ive tested it. + sounder works fine too.

the system doesnt show a set time the log starts after the keypad goes blank shows zones being tripped over a space of a few mins.

system is fine for a while. has been since friday . seems intermintent.

any idea what it could be

So youve tried setting it on night set, and tripping the system? Does it send comms, bell ring then?

So No Log?

Use engineer log

Engineer log option 22.

Should show ALL sets and unsets.

1 part set, exit tone steady, two beeps? or silent set?

2 Log should show set at this time?

3 Entry via Entry zone,tone starts?

4 code input, tone stops,screen shows banner?

5 Log should show unset at this time.

Are you sure it sets? Bell delay set?

Set up as above and make sure the bell trips when its set and you trip a normal zone.

Check option 44 Trace, will show last set,1st 5 alarms, last unset.

Make sure bell duration is not at zero!

bells defiatley not set to 0 changed it to 20 from 15 last time i was on site.

it was the eng log i have been using.
