Pir In Kitchen (Boiler)

Featured Replies

hi guys need a bit of advice off you intelligent lads now then i've recently revamped my kitchen up and in the process had to move a pir detector as the wall it was on was being removed and placed it on another wall but stupidly didn't think about what could be a problem if im right in thinking so in moving it as it now faces a boiler and when we set the alarm when go to work all is fine but my neighbour phoned to tell me my alarm was going off well to cut along story short after a few days of monitoring why it was just that zone activating the alarm it dawned on me that with the boiler turning on and of through the day its setting the alarm off is this possible and how can i resolve the problem with out moving it again or altering the boiler times lol any advice much appreciated thanks

If repositioning isnt a option then a different sensor should do the trick you need a sensor with dual technology

I wouldn't recommend any detector looking @ a heat source, a boiler will also pump water round and this also could cause issues, best to re-locate imo.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Or if the detector is not looking directly at the boiler you could just mask the bit that is, I agree with Steve DT wont help Mwave will see the water pumping

only if the pipes are plastic.
