Redcare has launched a new 5th generation (5G) version of the 24v 3 Pin Fire STU. This joins the new 5G, 12v 11 Pin STU, which we announced recently. Our continued investment in this latest generation of STUs, means our customers will continue to use the best in design and reliability, and will also save time when it comes to installation. The STU has two button programming and a seven segment LED display. In addition, the STU has a self learning capability and will be supplied pre-configured for most installations. This means you will no longer require a Non Volatile Memory Chip (NVM). This STU comes with the standard operating voltage required by the fire industry and is suitable for use with Redcare Fire, using our Classic product technology to protect customers against accidental fire or arson. Redcare Classic is the most widely used Grade 4 system in the UK. It notifies line cuts or faults in 40 seconds and is backed by the Redcare network which has over 99.997% availability. This STU is available now at no extra charge. We are also looking at the rest of our STUs, with a view to upgrading to a new 5G variation, in the future.

if there is no chip how do you set them up eg do you njust up the stu and the unit sends its own id rather than a site number/chip number?

Any comments or points i make are my own views and not that of my employer or company

All the details are already setup on the STU. You can use the buttons and the displays to change any settings etc.
