Ups

What do you guys think of this

http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techsp...;total_watts=25

as a UPS for a 6 camera system with DVR? The DVR draws 65watts and the power supply is a Dantech 4 Amp 8 out unit.

On the site it says the UPS is good for 1H30m at 100watts.

Hi James, the Dantech is 12V. Glad to hear you approve of APC :)

...alternative for the camera's is to use a Dantech battery back-up power supply.

Which model do you currently have?

.....also another vote here for APC

Excellent. I have the 8x 0.5A one (DA397 I think).

Yeah I noticed that there was a place in the box for a battery, I could stick a Yuasa in there couldn't I?

The DA397 will indeed take a battery........

best way is to use a battery on that, much more efficient.

Right then, battery it is on the Dantech for the cameras and I'll use the APC exclusively for the DVR. That should give me even more runtime.

is your DVR a 12V unit with an in line PSU ?

If so you could do similar with a PSU and a decent size battery, worked for me twice now.

much cheaper, and smaller than a 240V UPS.

Bugger I hope not, I've just forked uot for the UPS! The DVR is a Samsung Techwin SVR960.

Any idea Alpat Systems? I'll have a look at the spec when I get home from work.
