The Skudo I had, had a simular ignition switch to my Xantia these burnt out and the heater stopped working regulary. Might be worth a look.

My heater in the Astra Estate i had while at A D T stopped working loads of times. It always had very litted water in the rad when it started playing up, a few pints of water latter and i had heat again.

A few of the other lads had the same problem.
