NSI Private Forum

Featured Replies

If the "Rentokill Initial" members want a private forum then thats fine by me, ill set one up for them and it wont cause me any problems, just a few minutes of my time. In fact if either had asked for a totally seperate forums not a part of this one i would have considered that as well.

I`ve stated to both the forums leaders that they are responsible for them, so once created its no hastle to me, and if abused or used for other purposes ill just get rid of them.

Its just typical that the only people moaning are members not eligable to participate in the new forums. Do you all think you should have access to the Admin/Moderators lounge too..?

I take exception to that comment, i havent MOANED! i just gave my opinion, frankly i dont give a hoot.

All i said i dont understand why there are any other private forums than the trade forum, which i can see why that one is needed!

I then pointed out that if you make a forum for one group you will have to do it for the next group! Hardly moaning!!

Maybe i better not post my opinions/thoughts in case im accused of discrimination next time!

Ok perhaps MOANING wasnt the right word to use, and i value anyones opinion so long as it has a point to it. You asked the question

I dont understand why there are any private forums other than the trade forum.
and i answered it

So what exactly dont you get....?

I dont HAVE to set up any PRIVATE forums but will consider them if asked.

And it doesnt cause me any problems at all.

Oh god I,m sticking me Beak in lol. Yeah but dave a closed forum for NSI it applys to everyone even unregistered installers like myself should be able to participate //.National Installer.// thats fine but a closed forum whos running it.

What dont i get?

I just dont see the need, why do you need a private forum?

Surely the whole point is to share opinions and disscussion of topics.

If there is a NSI topic, then its all covered in there, if there is an //.National Installer.// topic it can be all covered in there.

Once you have private forum the word SHARE becomes redundant.

If thats what you or everyone wants, fine, i dont have any objections anyway, i just dont understand why there is a need!

Ian (and others),

As Dave stated a few replies ago. the purpose of having a private forum for //.National Installer.// engineers like myself is that we can discuss work related matters and employment issues that relate directly to //.National Installer.// employees.

Some of the things we discuss are covered under confidentiality agreements in our contracts, others relate to pay rates and overtime scales so we couldn't discuss these issues on an open forum.

For example, would you want all and sundry to know what you

Service Engineer and all round nice bloke :-)

The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.

Some of the things we discuss are covered under confidentiality agreements in our contracts

If that were the case then why don't you set up your group on msgroup or like, so that you have full control over, because as you say its "confidential" but (and this is not getting at you Dave, :) )

Dave has control over the forum (open/closed) and can read all the posts, and works for a company which technically is a competitor to //.National Installer.//.

(Dave if this info is wrong then I apologize)

So this gets back to what myself and others have said why do we need closed forums, anybody who can see the trade forum most be in the trade, then we are all in the same boat, trying to make a living fitting security/fire/cctv etc.

If the forum ends up been split in smaller closed forum then to me, it has lost the idea of why it was setup..

Thats my thoughts on it anyway :D

There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.
