hi all,

i use TT6 software on a MIO A701 digiwalker smart phone which has the aerial built in, it's absolutely brilliant, and will do all you need inc camera's poi's and funny voices and all in one box to carry around to. if your a biker it's superb via a blue tooth helmet headset, but only runs an hour on full battery so you need to rig up a charger lead.

seems totally potty to me to pay out for a bespoke box of plastic which invariably gets nicked, because you just don't want to carry it around when out of the car, but you always carry your phone with you. if out and about meet up with mates or family and go in their car perhaps, end up leaving your tom tom in it. but with your phone equipped then you not going to get it lost or you. you get asked will you go to 'never been there before' land tt6 will tell you how far and how long it will take right there on your phone.

you can buy the software for around

Up until recently we did quite a bit of work in London as well. Have you ever used a Tom Tom in London, brilliant. Guides you through all the unknown roads the locals know and then pops you out at your destination!

Before I had my Tom Tom go I used Tom Tom on a PDA ipaq, this was not as successful. The signal often went due to the vans heat reflecting windscreen even though I had the bluetooth version close to the windscreen.

Have any of you guys used Tom Tom traffic? It's supposed to design the route taking into account of delays etc...

cheers

Dave
