Decent But Cheap Laptops?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of picking up a cheap laptop for putting all my manuals onto (would take forever to print them all out). Would possibly be using it for internet access and a bit of word processing but not much else. As I know nothing about 'em, can anyone recommend me something decent that won't break the bank? Budget is about

I know a couple of people who have used them and have receieved good service.

For a budget laptop Acer wouldn't be a bad choice. I'd always buy new where possible as second hand for a half decent spec is usually not far off the price of a new one anyway.

HP are selling reconditioned ones on ebay, with 1 year warranty, i got one, and it looks brand new, all boxed and sealed... Well chuffed with it. Acer is probably the best of the budget makes, lot of schools we do buy them, for the higher end lappys i would usually go for Toshiba or HP, dell aint to bad, and sony for there screens.

Go for a branded model, if a part goes wrong you can usually get a 2nd hand part on Ebay. (Its so easy to crack a tft screen  )

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Dell.

Bought 3 laptops this year and 2 desktops.

I always take the basic/budget at approx

I got myself an Acer laptop, the cases arent very hard wearing but they are chap and they arent bad at all considering what you get for your money.

I would buy another one no problem.

Here is the one I have and the place I got it from
