(Im looking for a camera i can plug straight into a network etc)

Thanks Scoobs

I've used Sony with PoE, not cheap especially when you add the price of the midspans.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Depends what you want:

Iqeye superb but expensive.

Axis good selection of camera & software

Panasonic very good (small p/t units very cheap at moment)

Iv used panasonic and axis both are good products

Agree with Baywatch, it depends on what you want.

Axis image quality is good, but fully featured cams are expensive.

Vivotek (from y3kcctv) not quite so good, but still reasonable, and cheaper.

I find this an interesting thread.

From an installer point of view, other than one product not two, why would you not use a separate video server so you can choose any camera you want and always use the same GUI?

Can you tell me the advantages as you see it of what you use?

Paul.
