Am i correct in saying sdi has essentially been killed off like ahd , so won't be available much in the future ?

    Market leaders tvi and cvi

But straight ip onvif still have advantage of compatibility

    Where are you guys based?

I've been scanning the situations vacant sites and everything seems to be down south, not a lot of good to me in North Wales

If an experienced Subby is of any help, drop me a message.

    We are north east

Thats a huge amount from the off ! I think i will try the others as a demo first and see what suits us best but im sure there is a basic requirement of the SSAIB and NSI of information and reports we have to provide via this type of softwate ? Or have i just made that up !

PC data have BASE which is a basic version of alarm master aimed at small ssaib - doesnt have PDA links or anyhing tho but will run the false alarm stat reports etc,

Based on my own research through Google I am leaning towards HD-SDI even though the equipment is more expensive than TVI/CVI. Once upgraded I will not replace it for a few years and by then there will be a few more standards to think of ;-) Don't fancy IP based solution for now.

If I can run reasonably priced AHD 1080P cameras on Vectus that would fit the bill for now unless someone can recommend HD-SDI cameras that are not too expensive (1080P)?

Where are you looking for SDI ? I've found it's cheaper than TVI and CVI .

SDI is a dead format and not many manufacturers are making cameras for it any more

    Id go CVI or IP

  5. I think cash was around £15k AM is above half the price.

it will depend on what modules you go for etc.

As with everything tho you'll med to spend time inputting all the data for it to work for you instead of against you

we've had AM for about 3 months and it's still not right, missing stock etc

  6. FYI...Dahua is HD-CVI which is rate highly.

id stay away from SDI as its a dead format and ive had nothing but issues with it- cameras dropping out on short cable runs, a 100m max limit without a booster the list goes on.

CVI however will do over 100m on coax - 300m IIRC?? and more on cat 5 with balauns.

TVI is hikvisions format, same as CVI , havent used it myself but know a few lads that do, cant say ive heard of any major issues, except with firmware on DVRS.
