  1. A Strobe would flash quickly =>1Hz. I bet if you work out the cost of Visonic Batteries the separate flasher would pay for itself after a few years. Better to wire the bell if possible IMO.
  2. So what about when you need to send a faulty panel back, your voiding any warranty when you start hacking at the piezo. There's expander modules and wireless sounders available look at them just add them to the bill. They're cheap wireless kits so I wouldn't expect them to have all the features of wired kit built in.
  3. Sounds like the jumper pins are unavailable on that model. I showing battery fault that would be the control panel battery having low voltage or faulty. I wouldn't worry about the jumper and find out if the battery is duff.
  4. Faulty battery, system overloaded or possibly faulty panel? You can't test a battery or charging circuit without a load on it.
  5. There's wireless stuff that does that but I wouldn't bother. The existing cabling wouldn't support video.
  6. Suppose that one way to get people off the phone... That is Reset Digi, I assume. If you have no chime zones then it maybe be something odd. Take a backup with Wintex and default the panel, try from there to rule out hardware issue.
  7. Zone programmed as Chime. Press the Chime button it will go away.
  8. Consider yourself lucky, it's normally rock hard toffee pennies.
  9. Protecting a 350k house with a 200 quid alarm, baffles me...
  10. I am not trying to put you off but when flashing it's critical that it goes well or you will brick your panel. If you save a few quid but you brick a panel it's not a good cost saving exercise. Also the flasher has been the same for years, even the older less powerful panels had the same flasher separate. I can only speculate the reasons for this, maybe security or cost are some of the factors.
  11. Have you reset the system? It's possible the battery charging circuit is faulty or has a blown fuse.
  12. The negative posts are obviously from individual experience. To each there own, not one panel will suit all installers for one reason or another. Some of the positives you mention are negatives for others.
  13. Your looking at kit that the installers you have quotes from may have never fitted. If you are really unsure from what we have said so far, the only other things I can think of is:- Mesh, Texecom is Mesh based this maybe a good thing or it maybe a not so good thing. Generally you need more devices to increase signal security, with the idea that devices talk to each other not just to the controls. In a normal house the mesh will make little difference either should work fine. Range of devices, I know that Texecom has a large range of kit from Outdoor PIR's, DT's, Smokes, PA's .... As for others I don't know them well enough to comment on there range of kit.
