  1. Exactly the same? Have you got a spare 232 on the C4 - can you try using this instead of the one yr using now?
  2. Do you get exactly the same problem with both ways of connecting?
  3. Are the 2 bits of kit connected by 232 on the same phase?
  4. Optical isolator - as it says on the tin.. Can you reconfigure the 232 port on C4 to do something else (doesn't matter what) to prove it works properly? Might be putting out ***** and killing the panel?
  5. Any recent C4 firmware updates been applied? Try updating panel firmware? Do you have a ground between C4 and panel on 232? Does it still do it when you physically disconnect C4 and set from keypad?
  6. Have you defaulted it? Bit contradictory post too.. Does is fault when setting from the keypad? Does is fault when setting via C4?
  7. are you getting a fault displayed on the C4 or intruder keypad? What specifically does it say?
  8. We have 2 or 3 electricians who we work with and they will always put the spurs in for us and test. I actively use the fact we do not install the spurs (as we're not qualified and/or more importantly competent ) and those other firms just chucking in spurs are probably breaking the law. Those non-electricians who install spurs - do you test the work you've done and do the paperwork etc? Thought not.
  9. So you don't disagree they are good?
  10. are you 2 mental? 100's and 100's of these and not one problem (maybe 1 out of box failure).. best detector out there, no question.
  11. iWise = bulletproof. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere.
  12. I can't think of anything worse than an insiders guide on how to do our job which will be available to all and sundry on eBay/down the pub etc.. Why help all the plumbers and car washers steal our business??
  13. screw wireless tat to wall, learn wireless tat on, test wireless tat, get customer to sign. pretty much it?
  14. i don't remember saying that actually, can you direct me to my post where that was said please? yeah, look what you've done!
  15. see, yet again assumptions. you're assuming we have alarms in london aren't you. we do other things than just alarms and they don't require 4 hours onsite.
  16. well you can't be talking about me as i don't have second home anywhere. i never moan about working in london, i'd rather not but a couple of our biggest clients have things there we look after so it's not my choice. work is work regardless of where it is but london is still a dump and generally full of *******.
  17. sometimes you are so full of **** it's unbeliveable. if you care to read the other thread fully, the guy you're talking about is actually heading out on the M4.
