  1. Customer parts sets using the keypad on the landing then completes setting using the p.t.s adjacent the keypad.

Customer forgets system is set, walks down stairs and triggers the part entry cct then runs back upstairs to unset using fob using the that hangs off the keypad.

    This acceptable in BS8243?

  2. Anyone interested in politics and current affairs may find Freedomain Radio very interesting.

Freedomain Radio is hosted by a canadian philosopher/blogger called Stefan Monlyneux and in my opinion makes a lot of sense especially regarding the european migrant crisis. He tells it like it is.

  3. Sorry to bring up this old thread - but I see this has been released now.  There doesn't seem to be any information out there on the requirements for connecting to the cloud though.  Does it require a wired ethernet connection, or does it use WiFi, or do you need GPRS data - hence a GSM sim card?  If the latter, how much data does it use - what are the on-going operational costs?

    Anyone know?

Some good questions there mrbill.  :-|

  4. Ha ha. We always used CQR for a couple of years until we started to get loads of callouts with them going Hi Res.

Moved to knights and had very few problems apart from the magnet dropping out of its glue inside the contact.

It seems like there isn't enough glue to hold it in so we now add a dab of silicone, job done.

Just installed a Knights D75 contact. Loads better than the Yend74 and no chance of the magnets dropping out as the are about five times bigger and a snug fit.

A much more robust contact, just a shame it doesn't have eol resistors.

We've had the same problem in the past but not recently. You think Knights have resolved the problem or are you still having problems?

  6. trying my best - still on the look out for experienced engineers but I fear we do not pay enough for the quality we are looking for.

got a young lad starting on Monday, he's going through college etc but he won't come good for another year or so.

You will do well to find quality experienced engineers imo. In seventeen years of this industry i find most blaggers.

We have two apprentices. Prepare yourself for a bumpy ride :D

    Good luck.

  7. he does work on his own but if site/job requirements dictate he has another lad with him (his own or ours). if he provides the second man we pay accordingly and the job takes half the time.

he doesn't charge travel for up to an hour to site. at the moment he has been working within 20 mins of his house for the last 4 months so he's happy as Larry.

Ok glad to hear it :)

You seem to be making things work well up there mate :'>
