I bought my panel back in 1998ish....

I've been in touch with Challenger who were no help what so ever 😞 they're saying its obsolete, so can't (wont) help.

Imagine my surprise at calling my local Ford dealer to find they have no body part in stock for a 1998 Ford Escort,

In fact the before he laughed his cock off the the cheeky twit in the parts department started asking if I owned a Deloran & asked me to set the flux capacitor to August 2000....

  2. How on earth do you fix to bricking Clading ?

I have bodged an ewd on with red plugs + 2 x 1.5" by 8's

The brick appear to be a tile in disgust & won't drill with new ads but on rotary only.

Drilling with hammer makes the mortar fall out breaks the tile/ brick

That said that Vauxhall is probably a classic now according to Bangers and Cash.

Its a bit different with electronics though, back when the Guardall panel was new everyone had TV's with CRT tubes, and incandescent light bulbs, I cant see those becoming classics anytime soon

looking on ebay there 2 options

    Lotus Carlton 90k

or 2.0 CDX 3k,which would have been 2/3's or 1/4 of price of the average owners house ?

This alarm is so old no people in the trade are interested...

Go back 15 or 20 years ago, I was telling people it was old tat not worth bothering with & to replace the controls....

IIRC the smart key was no longer available all those years ago ??

Here's a picture of old Vauxhall-

    image.thumb.png.7fb7be38fb9fa00ba2c75dc60dedaece.png

This sorta thing would cost lots more money than the alarm controls, yet if you took it to the vauxhall dealer its very unlikely they would be interested in working on it or have anyone trained to work on it.

But there is probably a specialist who charges a premium over normal  garages to work on 'em due the knowledge required,

A few hundred quid on new controls is nothing, also redecorate the hallway  is the keypad  is different size or shape your tight-fisted w@nker 🙂

  5. some sort of dispute over a tyre -

you'd think think if you could buy or finance a 60k+ car, a few hundred quid for a tyre would be no issue ?

The tyre fitter Iveco, will 2/3 of cost of the audi at cica 40k inc vat ?

Rs4s etc were normally nicked to do a job with, is joyriding back?

locally stuff appears to be nicked & then recovered, "dingers" appears to 2023 term for "joyriding" however they are robbing the house for the keys & making tik tok videos

personally if I going out robbing late on evening I'd be ragging the car around the council estate to a lock up & unbolting all the bits that make a RS better than the base diesel car & having an ebay store full of side skirts, front ends, big wheels & sports seats ??

  7. Over Christmas I have noticed shed loads of fast VW's stolen with keys on facebook

    S3, S4, S5 & R whatever's

Being judgemental why are people buying or worse still financing fast cars, which are parked on the drive or worse still the street, within walking distance of rough estates..

only for them to be surprised & disappointed when their car disappears into the night a leaving a broken front door & grainy footage from there 30 quid ebay cctv...

Had a customer broken into last night

Single path via subscribers ISP ? (wifi jammer ?)

Commercial premises ( 3 pir + contact points to very small property)

Pirs fitted at suitable  height (not 14ft ceiling with the device under the coving)

All times & dates of on site log (as the door been booted in 1 minute after the system has set & radio sensors are asleep?)

All times & dates of ARC logs (have the coppers undid the thumb turn or yale on the front door & attachable fully set the system?)

Has the subscriber decorated their property like santa's groto & reduced the field of detection enough that  the alarm has failed to operate ?

  9. a switched mode psu = premier elite

    a transformer = premier

with the large circuit board with 8 zones

    fully populated = 168

    network 2 missing = 88

    network 2 missing + relay & outputs missing = 48

it says premier 48 on the label

it says "professional" on my van..... caveat emptor 🙂

  10. Walk up to callpoint, whack it on the side a number of times with a screwdriver handle, does it go off ?

Every callpoint removed from site needs testing for 28 days or whatever at your premises to ensure it's a strange site rather than faulty devices

What's different about match days ?

Is the heating on or are loads of fatties jumping up & down when a goal is scored ?
