  1. All brand new, I doubt everyone is on the same breaker, they are all over a large house. The alarm one is right next to the consumer unit, fed from one of the socket circuits.

  2. We pair them all manually together and then deploy. It won't be anything like that as we have 4 others working fine, we have also replaced the one causing problems to rule out a faulty unit.

  3. We have a residential site with 5 tp link 200mps powerline adapters, one for CCTV, one for the alarm and the others are used by the customer.

All locations work fine other than the one adjacent to the alarm panel, drops out and never comes back after a week or so, any ideas?

  4. I stopped working so much a while ago when the company bank balance improved. I work hard but very rarely at the weekend now, and just a little in the evening from home. Not for family or kids for me, I just don't like being stressed all the time and find I'm now more productive during the week. It also trains your clients to understand you are not available at any time they see fit.

  5. Don't totally agree with most of the above.

It's very hard going but those that should make it will do, those that shouldn't won't. Most won't.

Go for it, but unless you are very good or are working in a sales role preparing to poach you will probably fail. Then again that's what most said to me but we are doing well enough.

  6. I don't think their is any point pushing approval to end users, if anything it can hurt you. e.g.

Punter: ABC alarms is £X cheaper than you.

Us: Yes but they are sh!t

Punter: But they are approved like you and you said its very hard to gain approval and it means you're the dogs ********?

Us: Fu*k it just give them the job.

  7. As for badges, I'd be more interested in gaining the Ferrari horse before a nacoss badge.

I did think alot about it around 12 months ago but I could not prove a commercial benefit for making the switch. I have always thought we would get it at some point to increase sale value, I'm not even sure that stands these days.

  8. Jb does not give a stuff about SSAIB or nsi, it's about your own expectations and striving to make sure you are the best with processes and procedures. Continual improvement and development is key.

Kin ell sounded good that, you banged your head

Yup, Mrs N works in a VW dealershit.

I bet they work her hard.

  9. We are looking to update our list of sub-contractors as we have been let down a couple of times recently. Need to be based in the North West, we also have a project in Doncaster if anyone is local.

Usual skill set, Intruder, CCTV, Access & Fire. All standard insurance requirements & certificates will need to be in place and copies provided. References from members of the forum would also be useful.

    Please PM details.

    cheers

    Aaron
