Not fancy a couple of days in the big city? I'd be more likely to go with it being in London.
2 days? Feck that, it gets an afternoon normally. Not been for a couple of years. Don't think its that much use these days with forums like TSI etc.
-
Atleast I don't have to think about it now.

Where is the site? Give us a shout if you're still stuck.
As norm said, link out all safety and see if it closes, if it does bell out each pair until you find the open circuit.

As James, new battery at that age. If that does not clear the fault then you can try the monitor hardware, think its a local setting, not sure its in a wintex menu.
-
No of course, but I assume the OP is not brain dead. This has happened to me more than once after swapping a battery after a long mains fail. Tech know about the issue.Won't work if the battery is fecked tho.
-
Maybe not. The prem has a bit of a bug, go into 'Monitor Hardware' and turn off Battery monitoring and exit engineer, it should now be clear of the fault. Now enter engineer and turn battery monitoring back on. Should work.

We have 2 G4's going in next week if you want me to test one James.
-
ARC prob have it on log only with only 24 % signal.

Great news lol I might try one next week.

lol
however the point being take home is relative to hours worked. Some s.e peoples hourly rate makes me lol.
very true, being a lazy **** I do ok.
One thing that makes it worth the longer hours (not 15 though!) is having something to sell at the end.

Don't you live in a council flat?
wheeeeeyyyyyy
If council flats were like this I'd go and sign on like you.

Being the cynic....
I suspect a nice mediocre white collar carrer will bring greater rewards with little risk & none of the hassle of being self empployed in this industry ?
I would agree, but a wouldnt last long enough being told what to do etc to get to that point. Saying that I take home a fair bit more than any of my mates and no they are not all paupers
-
Those 15 hour days take their toll on body and mind! I do 10-12 hrs most days, but you get used to that and if you can get a couple of those hours done at home it makes it easier to live with.
-
Not sure while your smiling at that.
Good point.
I had to remind myself a while back that we work to live and not live to work. Atleast thats what I told myself when I was in Las Vegas and Cancun this summer
-
I have a little oap club that would use that app, the daft old dears keep leaving their fobs at home and the manager has to come down to let them in.
Why not go for a cheap dialler or cctv relay (if they have it).
-
True, I forget we are next to head office
ps: Access control in Wales? You will be telling me they have broadband next.

Before you all condemn the alarm company ..... we don't know yet if they installed it or just sold the kit to the OP.
Daft however you look at it IMO. ie. selling gear to public or installing equipment you don't support.
Or it could be a pro company with coms contract and customer is after a free reset on here
we would never know.
-
Full of something definitely
I have a good suggestion for you.......................................
-
good suggestion to be fair.
I'm full of them.
-
just a bit more time for meself, just to have a little extra time to organise meself and i would be happy.
Ive not enough hours in the day, thats the cause of me stress.
If thats the case you would be better with part time admin and maybe a trainee/apprentice IMO, would cost you same as one fully qualified engineer. You need to look at what YOU would rather be doing, paperwork or installs?
-
Don't expect your stress level to go down will ya
lol, ain't that the truth, more staff = more problems. Only way to go though if you want to earn decent £££ over a sustained period IMO.
One thing i will say about this game, i don't have any friends my age that earn the same as i do, so although its hard i don't see a time i will ever go back to cards in, i wouldn't know what to do with myself.
PS: To anyone reading this and thinking about making the jump, in this current climate i would say some of the newer firms on here are the exception to the rule, alot more go to the wall, infact atleast one who osted in this thread has gone tits up twice in as many years. So think about it!!
-
Looks like it's requiring an engineer or anticode reset for some reason-I'd reset and check the progging and adjust as required.
as it is not certificated restart the panel and choose 1:bs, this will have all the settings you need.
also change the shock to access not 12 hr.
ps: does any post come through this door? if so a shock was a daft idea.

Can someone advise please... for the v-comm do i connect to the bt line before the master socket (this would be ideal cos have existing con box) or after the master socket gubbins?
There is adsl broadband on the line but not in use when the alarm is set. Do i need a filter or wiol it be ok without?
Thanks.....
before & filter.
