November 23, 200322 yr comment_4782 All power to the unit must be removed for 10 seconds or so, then re-apply the mains and the unit should go into Alarm, enter your code to shut it up and go back to the panel to re-fit the battery and close the panel lid, when do go to the keypad and press reset. That should be all thats required. ........................................................ November 23, 200322 yr comment_4784 Problem solved. it turned out to be the 1 amp keypad fuse. Doh! I just made it to B&Q in time and then back home to fit the new fuse before it went dark. Phew! Anyway i think i'll leave it alone for a while now, although i need to add more PIR's at some point as i've just had an extension built so that should be fun. Again, Chris. September 24, 200718 yr comment_179133 Hi. I have the same problem, aslo with an Accenta 8, and I suspect the keypad fuse has gone. I had a decorator round and took the keypad off the wall and I think the wiring may have been strained and short-circuited (possibly). I have opened the keypad (no tamper alarm started) and checked the voltage at the "13V" terminal and I am getting about 3V strangely. My problem is that if I open the panel to change the fuse, the alarm will go off i think. Maybe just the internal sounder for a "tamper" alarm? I would disconnect the mains for safety probably, but I have a battery back-up in the panel and more importantly also in the bellbox. I don;t want to disturb my neighbours if I can help it. Is the answer simply to have the fuse ready and pop it in quick whilst the tamper alarm is going off? I won't be able to type in the code till power to the keypad is restored. Thanks in advance for your time and effort for anyone who can point me in the right direction. Roger What you have quoted is pretty much what will happen, do as you have said, remove the fuse from the spur first to be on the safe side. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/884-accenta-8-keypad-lockout/page/2/#findComment-179142 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 I wish the panel had a keypad built in!
