Accenta 8 Keypad lockout

Hi,

(I'm a complete newbie when it comes to alarms.)

Basically i had to move my keypad from my accenta 8 system from one wall

to another so i took the back off and cancelled the tamper with my code, unwired it, moved it and rewired it back up (in the same order).

Problem is now the keypad is dead. no power light or anything. (pressing the 'reset' button on the keypad does nothing)

I downloaded the manual for it and it does mention that the alarm will go into lockout if it's powered on with a tamper condition but not how to get it back out!

I was going to try powering down the main unit but i don't really want the alarm going off without a working keypad to shut it up.

anyone got any ideas ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,

Chris.

Providing you have wired the keypad up correctly and made sure the keypad tamper is correct.

Make sure you have not blown any fuses on the main panel, then power the main panel down(battery and Mains). Reapply the power, the system should be okay know, Refit the lid. Test the sytem.

Colin.

Thanks for the help guys.

The detectors are still lighting up but the door chimes don't work anymore.

Will the alarm go off when i power down and then up the main box ?

cheers,

Chris.

Ok, things didn't go too well.

I reset switched the electric off, disconnect the battery to the main unit.

reconnected the battery and put the main lid back on and switched on the electric again.

the keypad is still dead. and now i have the internal bleeper going off. :(

oh dear.

if i disconnect the battery again and put the electric on will this trigger the full alarm ?

i just want it to shut up now.

cheers,

Chris.

Checked wiring at both end and it's the same. even tried rewiring pad to make sure connections were ok but it's still the same.

there is nothing with the keypad. it's just on it's own.

any ideas how to shut this thing up it's driving me mad.

should i just disconnect the internal sounder for now ?

cheers,

Chris.

Try puting the mains on and then the battary and see if that helps. I had a problem like this and doing it that order made it all better again!
