July 18, 200520 yr comment_61334 So does that mean we're stuck with the sounders being too loud? Stick a 10K pot inside the speaker and adjust the volume to suit, or try resistors of differing values until the desired volume is reached. Either option though will reduce the output of the speaker even in full alarm, where it's normally louder. ........................................................ She asked for two extension speakers as she's a little deaf. I was speaking to one of the engineers who was also out there tonight and the most annoying feature is the "chirp" (sorry, not sure what to call it) that the alarm makes when it's exit timer has run out and it's now Armed. He set it to Silent set for Part Arm and hoped that by setting it at night time, that no sound at all would be heard (to prevent waking up others when their children arrive in at 2am!), but when it Armed, no matter what, the damn thing made a very loud chirp/chime. He disabled Entry/exit tones/Chime from the keypad options but it still did it. Any ideas guys? You can't tell her it's tough Reduce the overall Volume to the desired level, and fit a Soundbomb somewhere for when the alarm activates. ........................................................ July 19, 200520 yr comment_61344 Have you disabled the exit tones in the keypad setup menu aswell as the global system options menu? If so, are you sure you're disabling the tones on the correct keypad? If you don't know......ask. July 19, 200520 yr comment_61345 Have you disabled the exit tones in the keypad setup menu aswell as the global system options menu?If so, are you sure you're disabling the tones on the correct keypad? 61344[/snapback] I've changed the settings on both keypads and in Global settings. He's phoned me this morning to say he can tell when the internal speakers are on vol setting 8, but no difference on anything else. She's not happy about the "silent" night set not being silent. If we can sort that I think she'll be happy. She has accepted the volume when she heard setting 8. But as I said, she'd like it to be 100% silent when setting. When disabling the Exit/Entry tones, this just silences the usual tone when the keypads say "Exit now....", but the chime at the end still happens. We tried disabling Chimes too, but to no success.
