Abacus 6 keypad temporary removal

Featured Replies

Hi.

I need to remove the keypad for my Abacus 6 for decorating purposes.

Have done it before in the past but can’t remember what I did before disconnecting the key pad wires so that it doesn’t go into alarm.

Had the front off using engineers code and can see the wires going into the terminal block on the back.

Thanks.

Just leave in engineer mode and try not shorting out the wires dude

Although can't you secure cable cover whole keypad and decorate?

Thanks al-yeti, thought removing wires might set alarm off.

Will leave in engineer mode and not short wires!!, decorator needs panel off.

Out of interest once in eng’ mode are those settings held at panel until coming out of it again?

Enter engineers mode.

Remove Keypad

Cut one wire at a time and tape over each end.

Jobsa a gud un.

or....

just leave wire poking out of wall, until you've plastered, painted or wallpaper

& then fit something decent ?
