Texecom Premier panel - External Sounder not going off

Featured Replies

Hello All

I'm struggling to get my Alarm panel set up as i want it, and i think i have a gaping hole in the way i have it set up at the moment.

I have Texecom Premier Elite 48 with several PIRs around the property and a magnetic door sensor on the main door.

i have a key pad in the hall way, where i also have a PIR.

so i have set up the zones as follows:

Front door:

Zone Type - Entry/Exit 1

Attribute 1 - Omittable

Attribute 2  - None

Halllway PIR

Zone Type - Guard Access

Attribute 1 - Omittable, Access, Entry/Exit 2

Attribute 2 - none

The problem i have is that if the front door is tripped and the alarm is NOT deactivated, only the internal alarm is triggered and the external SAB is quiet.

To ensure that the external sounder is actually working i have activated a Panic alarm and i can hear the siren from the external sounder.

Ultimately this  means that if someone was to force the front door open, the external sounder wouldn't go off and no one outside would know.

can someone please help me diagnose what the problem could be?

thanks

Second Entry Timer or Bell Delay?

You wouldn't normally program the final door as omittable.

If you leave the alarm sounding does bells kick in after a minute or so?

Thanks for the reply... No I've never waited anything more than say 10-15 seconds before disarming.

I'll check the value of the 2nd entry timer,  and bell delay and leave the alarm sounding for this length of time to see what happens.

I've read the section on assigning zones in the install manual loads...And i couldn't see this being explained... I have to admit i don't fully understand the logic sometimes....

Thanks again.. I'll report back with my results.

Well having the device that starts the timer omitted, would mean you have no idea if the system is armed until you set it off.

The manual will be pitched for engineers reference so things like that wouldn't be covered.
