Paragon plus home intruder alarm

Featured Replies

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I moved into my new house 2 weeks ago and the intruder alarm was working fine, I just entered a code to set and the same code to unset. I had to install a new light in the living room so I knocked the mains electricity off for the whole house. It was off for around 5 minutes and then straight back on. When I came to set my alarm later on, I entered my code but nothing happened, no beeps to tell me to leave. The panel looks healthy and isn't displaying any faults. The alarm is a paragon plus,  I managed to locate a manual online but can't see anything in it.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get it working again. Thanks in advance

Good chance the internal back up battery needs replacing, take the opportunity to have it serviced too by a reputable company.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Thanks for the prompt response. If it's the internal battery, wouldn't that mean that the alarm would've sounded when I cut the power?

Not if the external sounder has a duff battery too.

Paragon is quite an old panel, soooo.

Brill. Thanks for giving me somewhere  to start. Might be worth looking into getting a new box.
