Bullet camera bracket/support

Featured Replies

I posted here a few months back regarding installing a CCTV system inside a vehicle that would need to operate under extreme vibration and shock conditions. I have found a company that could provide such a product but I have one small problem.

How to attach the bullet cameras to the inside of the vehicle?? I would ideally need somthing that can be easily moved so that I can adjust the shot, but it also needs to stay in position.

I also need to come up with an innovative method to attach the camera to the support, the camera is cylindrical and threaded, there are two nuts/washers that are on this thread, they can be used to tighten up against the camera with some kind of support in between. Do you have any idea where I can get one of these, I could get something manufactured myself but why reinvent the wheel when its already been done before.

Have you thought about using a magnet as the base, similar to a speaker magnet, also you could check out the ariels that cabbies use with the big magnetic bases.

Photos would be helpfull.

Something like these will do the trick.

Thanks for the responses guys, unfortunately I can't get hold of a digital camera to take a photo of the camera (That sounds kinda silly).

I have seen the brackets that you showed but unfortunately all of these require a screw fixture on the camera to attach to. I have had a look around and may have come up with a solution.

They have got loads of different fixtures so hopefully one of them should be suitable for the bullet camera.

Mirror?

Very clever Andy, unfortunately I won't be able to get the shots I need.

I have a new problem though, I need to make the cables to attach to the bullet camera, I have everything I need, the cable the connector and the camera, but unfortunately I am missing one vital piece of information the circuit diagram.

The connector is a small 12V power connector, there are two points on the connector for the cable to attach to, one for 0V one for +12V. but I don't know which one should go where should the 0V go on the inside of teh connector or the outside?? and vice versa.

I did find a diagram for another bullet camera shown here

http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/21CWbullet.PDF

At the bottom of the first page there is a diagram for the power connector with the positive on the inside and the negative on the outside?? I know it is probably not the best idea but will this diagram be quite common??

Basically that is quite common yes! .....BUT! .....Death and taxes .......!
