October 24, 201510 yr comment_433262 Any other material that is fire resistant - there are lots of suitable plastics, but much harder to mould and cost ++. So far easier for CU manufacturers to slightly modify (if at all) an existing metal design, and no actual need to test if metal burns. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/39253-intruder-alarm-in-toilet-area/page/2/#findComment-433262 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 October 24, 201510 yr comment_433264 As far as I'm aware (have been told from people above) plastic is out and will not be making an appearance. I also asked about the use of plastic plugs with the escape route fixings and this is fine. October 24, 201510 yr comment_433265 I'm hoping for fire resistant plastic as it should allow for development of fixings for escape routes It's widely available, but either far too brittle (phenolic) or far too soft / difficult to mould to small details (the sort they make car fuel tanks from) for this sort of thing, that's the problem as I understand it.
