You know it makes sense :yes:

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

We have taken a couple karizma plus over from national and they are very good panels.

Menu driven and easy to programme, they are also still a current panel but do not comply with dd etc.

I would always recommend Galaxy but to be honest in a domestic situ go for scannie or menvier.

the Menvier and scanny stuff is good, and they have been around since the ice melted.

Yeah price mostly but they are too industrial for domestic i think with regards to chime etc.

We have a nice balance now by using Galaxy for all our top end/industrial work and the scannie gear for domestic etc...

Whatever works best for you, I just don't enable chime thru 16Ohm...

I get what you mean with the "Industrial" feel though...

Sorry to be a pain and ask another (rather vague) question...

I've identified a few systems available to me for between the 30-70 pound area (some 2nd hand and some brand new).

Which of these contenders should I buy for me to install in my house (competent DIYer but 1st time in installing alarm system)

1) Galaxy 16

2) Scantronic 9651

3) Gardtec 580

4) Texecom Veritas Excel

5) Karizma Plus

And would it be the same choice if my level of experience wasn't an issue?
