How much am I looking for remotely monitoring a 4 camera system?

This can vary considerably based on the ARC and installer that supports the system. A price bracket of £700 - £1600 per year wouldn't be unreasonable. Some monitoring centres operating out of a shed with a PC will do it very low but proper ARC's will be on the higher end but if you see the value of remote monitoring CCTV systems you want to entrust it to an ARC that will have the resource to respond to the alarms quickly and have traceablity of what they are doing.

Or stick a 4 way TX onto the 4 cams and send it 2km away to a VHS recorder and hope it does not rain or snow hard.
