Adding Cameras To New Unit Over Yard

Featured Replies

I have some units which are currently fitted with CCTV. I have recently purchased two units opposite and want them fitting with cameras (four). The distance is about 300 metres accros the yard but I would like to view these additional cameras with my existing set-up. It would be great if these could be connected to my existing 16 channel dvr. There is no way of these additional cameras to be wired so the set-up would need to be wireless.

Is this possible?

Yes it is possible just avoid the cheap rf units as they are prone to interference and are unreliable long term

I also want a monitor in the new units. if I use wireless cameras sending the signal, through to my existing DVR can i do this?

If I was to have a DVR and monitor in the new unit would this help matters?

You will need something to split the screen at the remote location so you can either use a dvr to do this or a splitter only. Anything is possible depending on the available budget

If I am using wireless cameras from the new unit to the main offices how do I get a monitor in the new unit?

Use decent cameras and a wireless transmitter. No one makes a decent wireless camera

The cameras output would go to the monitor first before they are transmitted to the DVR, or you could use two wireless recievers one at the monitor one at the DVR
