Rs485 Termination

Featured Replies

Say you have a line of PTZs... And I do not terminate the rs485 with the termination switch, will the telemetry not work? As this is all i can think of what I haven't done on site... Telemetry isn't working... Cameras addressed correctly etc

Doubtful but possible especially if long runs

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

The majority of RS 485 does require a balanced line / resistors at each end. Some manufacturers deal with it themselves through their kit and some require installer to fit.

What kit are you using?.
